HAPPY THURSDAY TO THE SISTERHOOD!

LET’S MEDITATE TOGETHER TODAY……

Perhaps they will listen, and each will turn from their evil ways. Then I will relent and not inflict on them the disaster I was planning because of the evil they have done. (Jeremiah 26:3, NIV)

As Christians, we are responsible for many things. It is our job to show others the way to Christ so that they too can walk in His purpose and His will can be carried out. However, before we can show others the way to Christ we must first work on WHERE WE “R”! Barry White said it best when he said, “Practice what you Preach”. Everyone knows the song!!!! I’ve learned that it is so much easier to get people to follow you when your life is a constant reflection of what you preach and teach.

We must constantly repent daily. We all fall short of God’s glory. True repentance will show four things.

First, it will show Responsibility. We must take ownership of the role we played in every situation that went wrong. You know what you did, you know what you said, and you knew when you did it or said it, it was going to cut someone like a knife. Second, it will show Regret. We must have true remorse for doing wrong and for the pain and problems we've caused. I’m speaking of real remorse and real apologies. Apologies that include the phrase, “if I did anything to hurt you, my bad” are not sufficient. No, we need to offer apologies that say “I know what I did, and I’m truly sorry for it. There’s no place for Pride within His Purpose.

Third, we must be committed to Never Repeating the act regardless of the temptations or situations. Once you commit the crime, you now have the potential to do it again. Commit yourself to be better and do better. Purpose in your heart, that you will never duplicate the same mistake. Look at it as a weakness that you are determined to improve.

The fourth and final thing, we must Repair the damage we've done. Repair has to be the hardest of them all. With some people, once it’s done, they will never give you another chance. One and done. In the old days, elders would say, “Be careful of what you do and say, because once it is done or said, you can’t take it back!”

As humans, we all have traveled down the road of wrong at least once in our lives, but the road you travel will have detours along the way. The detours give you the opportunity to travel down a better road. God does not bring us to roads that He will not help us to travel. We normally are so caught up in what went wrong. Alternatively, choose to spend more energy correcting what’s wrong. Today’s scripture tells us to “turn from our evil ways” to avoid disaster. A prideful heart goes before destruction. Remember, we are children of God. The life you live must reflect his goodness. Most people are visual learners. We can show them better than we can tell them. Show them the advantages of giving your life to the Lord. If you can’t be Responsible, show Remorse, and never Repeat or aim to Repair, you my sister are looking for REVENGE!
